M I S S I O N

To provide continuing technical assistance to the Local Government Units in Health Facility Development and Environmental Health that is essential and appropriate in the delivery of health services to the community.

General Functions:

a. Implements the central office developed plans, policies, programs, projects and strategies related to health facility development, planning, operation and maintenance

b. Provides coordination, technical assistance, capability building, consultancy and advisory services related to health facility development, planning, operation and maintenance.

c. Provide available information, and recommendation to stakeholders on matters pertaining to health facility development, planning, operation and maintenance

INFRASTRUCTURE AND EQUIPMENT DEVELOPMENT SECTION

Specific Functions:

a. Implement and disseminate policies, programs, standards, guidelines and projects related to development and upgrading of health facilities and health care equipment

b. Prepares master site development plans for health facilities under the Department of Health and reviews and evaluates such plans developed by other agencies and organizations

c. Provide technical assistance and services to collaborating and implementing agencies on matters pertaining to health facility and health care equipment development

d. Coordinates planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of activities related to health facility and health care equipment development.

HEALTHCARE OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT SECTION

Specific Functions:

a. Implements the central office developed systems and procedures to operationalize networking of hospitals, laboratories and other health facilities

b. Implement the central office formulated policies, guidelines and procedures related to the operation and maintenance of hospitals, laboratories and other health facilities

c. Provide technical assistance and services to implementing agencies on matters pertaining to the capability building and operation and maintenance of hospitals, laboratories and other health facilities.

d. Conducts and coordinates human resource development activities related to hospital, laboratory and health facility operation and maintenance

e. Develop and maintain data bank and information system on hospitals, laboratories and other health facilities
