Picture1One of the three strategic thrusts to attain Universal Health Care (KalusuganPangkalahatan) is to improve access to quality hospitals and health care facilities. Furthermore, the quality of government-owned and operated hospitals and health facilities is to be upgraded to accommodate larger capacity, to cater all type of emergencies, and to handle non-communicable diseases.

Health Facility Enhancement Program was formulated to provide financial assistance to improve health facilities preparedness for trauma and other emergencies. This is also to deliver attention to the needs of millions of poor Filipino families which comprise the majority of our population.

The Health Facility Development Cluster of the Regional Office X is dedicated to render services and technical assistance for the success of the aforementioned program in order to deliver quality health care to the populace thru the accelerated upgrading of health facilities.

For FY 2014, a total of 156 facilities were programmed for upgrading. 123 of those facilities will be implemented under DOH implementation while the remaining 33 will be implemented by the Department of Works and Highways.
